Assignment 1 Management Philosophy You will have to identify the management philosophy that most accurately depicts your management style or philosophy. Keep in mind that in order for you to define or identify your management philosophy you will need to research management philosophies. You may find that your philosophy is a blend or mix of various philosophies. You should understand that as you progress through this course your philosophy of management or managing may change, so be prepared. You will be building an inventory of management philosophies that can be applied in this course and future doctoral studies. Activity Resources: Daft, R. L. (2010). Main Task: Assess Management Philosophies Select a management philosophy (principles, values, styles, etc.) that best describes you. Search and find five articles or books related to your selected management philosophy. Make sure these articles or books have been published in the past 5 years in academic literature. You will be building an inventory of management philosophies that can be applied in this course and future doctoral studies. Discuss, assess, and compare the similarities and differences of these articles (books). Develop a matrix that will project these similarities and differences. Support your paper with five (5) scholarly sources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including older articles, may be included. Length: 5-7 pages not including title and reference pages Your paper should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts that are presented in the course and provide new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic.
